Job Title: Director of Marketing and New Product Development
Location: Orange County/Los Angeles
California based client that for over 35 years has produced the leading non-toxic, biodegradable, environmentally safer product
used for household cleaning, industrial cleaning and professional and institutional applications is seeking a Director of Marketing
and New Product Development. Client has a broad customer base including; major retailers, national wholesale distributors,
Government contracts and television shopping channels throughout the world.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Participate in planning, coordinating and managing all marketing activities relating to current and future product lines.
• Develop and maintain information on the competitive landscape, define markets, strategies, and new product and channel
development.
• Provide general management direction and counseling through;
• Contributing to strategic business planning
• Providing marketing perspective to operational issues
• Effecting staff resources to support departmental decision making
• Developing the marketing of new product introductions
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Develop both short and long-range strategies for all current and future product groups.
This responsibility is shared among other senior leaders in the organization and the President.
• Develop, implement and evaluate tactical plans to ensure the attainment of annual volume, profit and spending objectives.
• Department staffing including; motivation, training, development and evaluation of subordinate personnel in conjunction with
goal setting and achievement review.
• Responsible for all facets of the New Product Development process including but not limited to the introduction of new and
emerging products that fall both within the current product groups and also broaden the reach of our current product groups
and/or markets.
• Accountable for the efficient performance of functional marketing activities including:
• Sales forecasting
• Inventory management of finished goods and packaging
• Consumer and trade promotion
• New product development
• Competitive intelligence
• Trade show activities
• Packaging
• Part of advertising committee
• Provide input on pricing decisions. This includes evaluation of current pricing levels, competitive pricing and future pricing levels.
• Develop formal presentations for new accounts and distribution expansion at current customers.
• Identify customer and market growth that supports the strategic direction of the company.
• Support sales activities to ensure that volume/profit goals are achieved.
• Coordinate with manufacturing to assure appropriate product characteristics, including quality (shared with manufacturing), cost
to manufacture including cost reduction initiatives, and new products development.
• Other activities as assigned by the President.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• MBA preferred.
• Eight to ten years of P&L responsibility in marketing/sales in a consumer packaged goods company.
• Demonstrated creative problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated record of past successes. Aggressive, action oriented, results driven entrepreneurial focus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
• Must have outstanding written, oral and computer presentation skills.
• Must have advanced analytical skills utilizing the entire suite of Microsoft Office software programs.
