Job Title: Eastern Division Retail Sales Manager
Location: Boston, New York, or Cincinnati
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Manages the company’s customer base and appointed food brokers in assigned area of geographical responsibility.
• Responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating business plans for key
• Leads and directs the effort to penetrate & develop key customer contacts and relationships, resulting in successful
achievement of the company's strategic goals & objectives.
• Identify business-building opportunities, develop a plan that includes new items & merchandising, implement the plan, and
monitoring progress against the plan.
• Conduct retail store audits/note observations.
• Develop assigned food brokers in the areas of planning, execution, Implementation, evaluation, business plan tracking,
reporting, and retail implementation & administration for customers in assigned area of geographical responsibility.
• Track and analyze business trends on a daily/weekly/monthly basis including volume achievement, trade spending, market
share development and other corporate goals, including margin mix.
• Communicate policies and procedures to food brokers and customers
• Communicate marketplace activities to corporate headquarters on a regular basis.
• Actively participate in industry and customer initiatives, including trade and food shows.
• Interact with key national office personnel in the areas of forecasting, new item program development, trade spending
program development, and reporting.
• Travel by air and other modes of transportation.
Education and/or Experience
• BA or BS Degree.
• Minimum 10 years experience in the food industry.
• Knowledge of and key account contacts in the retail channel
• Experience in direct sales management and key account management Experience in the management of food brokers
