Job Title:  Vice President of Business Development

SUMMARY:
The VP, Business Development has the responsibility to strategically approach, engage and close a select group of major retail
accounts for the purpose of profitably selling large quantities of The Company products and services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
•        To strategically employ relationship, creative and solutions based selling techniques to approach, engage and bring to
close target accounts in as short a time as possible.
•        Develop P&L forecasts along the SVP for each account such that there is a known sales, revenue and profit goal for each
potential account prior to first contact.
•        Identify key decision makes within target accounts. Establish strong relationships at all levels of an account and leverage
those relationships to drive the awareness, priority, and acceptance of The Company. Senior executive relationships are critical
to success.
•        In partnership with the SVP, structure and negotiate retail distribution agreements that provide strong contractual
protections, maximum selling opportunity and targeted profit for The Company.
•        Understand a prospective retailer’s corporate strategy, positioning and performance to best position The Company within
the target company. Develop and refine the value proposition for each target account, understanding all competitive offerings in
the marketplace and how to best position The Company.
•        Identify new product opportunities and partner with The Company Product Management team to introduce new offerings
within target retailers.
•        Generate positive awareness of our brand and our position in the marketplace with your retail accounts through all
appropriate means.
•        Develop and lead third party relationships that will contribute to acquiring key accounts (e.g. banks, brokers, technology
providers, etc.)

REQUIREMENTS:
•        A Bachelor’s Degree is required and an MBA is a plus
•        8+ Years full time work experience required with Sales experience in Retail/CPG industry a plus.  
•        Must be a self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
•        Strong relationship management skills
•        Consulting, financial services or retail background preferred
•        Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in a results-oriented environment
•        Desire to work in fast-paced, entrepreneurial venture
•        Detail-oriented with strong project management skills.
•        Ability to multi-task and work with various departments.
•        Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•        Excellent computer skills – Must be proficient in the MS platform of programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
